In this edition of Rapper In The Spotlight, we’re diving into the career of Untell, an indie rapper who first caught our attention with his unique rapping tone and strong presence in survival shows.
Early Beginnings
Oh Dong-hwan, better known as Untell, began his journey in the hip-hop scene at just 15 years old when he auditioned for Show Me The Money 5 in 2016. Although he only made it through the preliminary round, the experience lit a fire in him that would keep pushing him forward.
In 2017, he competed in High School Rapper, making it to the third round before elimination. Two years later, he returned for High School Rapper 3 and reached the third round once again. That same year, he joined Show Me The Money 8, where he impressed audiences by advancing to the 5th round. These appearances gave him valuable exposure and built a strong foundation for his future career.
Official Debut
In 2019, Untell made his official debut with the collaborative single “hardrally” alongside Khundi Panda.
He quickly followed this with singles like “ONTSTOP” and “SPHONE”, before releasing his first EP, WILL, in 2021.
First Album: HUMAN, the album
Untell’s breakthrough came in 2022 with his first full-length project, HUMAN, the album. This release highlighted his growth as an artist, featuring impressive collaborations with Rad Museum, Paloalto, DJ Wegun, and more. The album blended sharp lyricism with inventive production, cementing Untell as a rising force in the Korean hip-hop scene.
Continued Growth
Later in 2022, Untell teamed up with Will Not Fear for the collaborative EP BOBO, later reimagined in a remix version. In late 2023, he returned with his second album ANIMAL—a bold, genre-blending release filled with unique beats, experimental sounds, and undeniable vibes.

Building on his momentum, Untell released the single “I Don’t Wanna Lie to You” and the collaboration “Fatality” featuring 918 and Swervy in 2024.
Most recently, in 2025, he dropped “Where Is Paradise? Pt. 2” featuring Yun Mun Sik, showing once again his ability to evolve and explore new sounds.
