Upside Down

Opening strong, the title track ‘Upside Down’ blends EDM and rock with vibey vocals, melodic rap, and flawless transitions into singing. The angsty yet refreshing energy makes this song a total anthem.

‘Back and Forth’ takes over next with a hip-hop-driven track layered with rock instrumentals, this one balances sentiment and strength, carried by CHANYEOL’s vocals and an emotional build-up.

Switching to pop-rock vibes, ‘Ocean Drive’ feels light, groovy, and totally refreshing, perfect for an easy listen with its playful instrumentals and beat mix.

‘High & Dry’ slow things with an acoustic-driven pop ballad with a heartfelt delivery. CHANYEOL’s yearning vocals elevate the emotions, making this one of the most touching songs on the album.

The pre-released single ‘Happy Accident’ featuring SOLE takes over next. This one leans into smooth R&B with retro flair, SOLE’s feature adding even more depth to an already standout song.

This release finishes with ‘123 Dance’, closing the mini on a fun note, this track explodes with old-school elements, bouncy rapping, and a dynamic tempo; a perfect, high-energy ending.

With ‘Upside Down’, CHANYEOL proves once again that he can masterfully shift between genres, hip-hop, R&B, EDM and pop-rock, and still maintain his signature colour. This album is refreshing, heartfelt, and endlessly replayable.
