This week’s review is for the foodies who appreciate a comforting romantic comedy with a sprinkle of chaebol drama. Let’s talk about the ENA production ‘Tastefully Yours’.
Created by Han Jun-hee, written by Jung Soo-yoon, and directed by Park Dan-hee, ‘Tastefully Yours’ tells the story of a competitive chaebol heir and a passionate countryside chef who come together to revive a small restaurant—and unexpectedly stir up more than just flavors.
From Seoul to the Countryside
Han Beom-woo (Kang Ha-neul) is an executive director at one of Korea’s top food conglomerates. As the proud owner of the finest restaurant in Seoul, his culinary ego is challenged when his mother, the company chairwoman, pits him against his brother Han Seon-woo (Bae Na-ra): whichever sibling earns three Michelin stars first will be named the next head of the company.
Beom-woo’s search for an award-worthy dish leads him to a surprising discovery—a seemingly identical meal is being served in a tiny countryside restaurant in Jeonju. Determined to prove his superiority, he visits the restaurant… only to be stunned by the depth of flavor in the version prepared by Mo Yeon-joo (Go Min-si), a talented chef with sky-high standards and a one-table eatery full of heart.
A Recipe for Romance
Though their first meeting is rocky, Beom-woo quickly recognizes Yeon-joo’s potential and makes a bold decision: to help her run the restaurant and bring her dishes to the world. But what starts as a strategic move slowly turns personal, as he finds himself falling for Yeon-joo’s tenacity, warmth, and cooking.
As they build their small team—including Jin Myeong-sook (Kim Shin-rok), a no-nonsense sous-chef, and Shin Chung-seung (Yoo Su-bin), an enthusiastic server—they transform the modest restaurant “Jeongjae” into a hidden gem. Together, they face unexpected obstacles and competitive pressure, but they find strength in their shared dreams, good food, and blossoming bonds.
Food, Heart, and Healing
One of the most charming aspects of ‘Tastefully Yours’ is its love for food. The cooking scenes are shot with a delicate, almost therapeutic touch—every slice, stir, and simmer reflects the heart of the characters and becomes a storytelling device in itself. It’s the kind of drama that makes you hungry for both a warm meal and a warm hug.
Despite moments of tension and angst, the overall tone remains soft and healing. With just 10 episodes, this romantic foodie drama is a comforting and easy watch, perfect for a cozy binge.
‘Tastefully Yours’ is now streaming on Netflix. Watch the trailer below and let yourself be charmed by this sweet and savoury romance.
