B-)AND #8 Band ‘CHUNGYOILE’
CHUNGYOILE, the 8th team ‘B-AND’ presents.
They are an alternative rock band, composed of 4 members—Jungoh (vocal/guitar), Eungyo (guitar), Handol (bass), Gawon (drum)—. Also, this band showcases diversity, freely expressing each other’s performances and stories without being confined to a set structure. They officially began their career with their first performance on August 5, 2021, at ‘Club BBang’ in Mapo-gu.

The band CHUNGYOILE shared that they work together through rehearsals and discussions without a main producer. This approach allows each member’s musical preferences to shine, creating a variety of sounds that highlight CHUNGYOILE’s unique charm.
CHUNGYOIL is under the indie label ‘Blue Tangerine Records,’ which is based in Seoul. Alongside CHUNGYOIL, the label is home to a variety of talented artists such as Moskva Surfing Club, KONTRAJELLY, and Jeon Dain Band. Through various performances, the band has proven their talent, and in 2023, they made waves in the Hongdae indie scene once again by ranking in the TOP 6 of the Band Discovery competition hosted by KT&G Sangsang Madang. ‘dreamreading’ is an album based on the alternative genre, featuring dreamy, almost trance-like sounds that feel as if you’re in a dream, contrasted by rhythmic performances. It sings of deep emotions that arise in moments that feel as fleeting as a dream.

A tribute to my own star, the second single [sorrow star]

‘sorrow star’ is a song that pays homage to the indie band ‘Sister’s Barbershop’s’ track ‘Underprivileged star.’ The album features a unique arrangement with melancholic lyrics. This was also the band’s first work where they independently handled recording, mixing, and mastering, showcasing their abilities as an independent band.

The slow yet constant changes of love, the fourth single [Forest Bath]

[Forest Bath] is a guitar-driven track, which leads the entire composition. The build-up of sound from 2 minutes and 54 seconds to the end of the song is overwhelming, contrasting with the delicate and hesitant confession intertwined with the intense performance, leaving a stronger impression on the listeners.

A painful yet warm farewell, the seventh single [Space Walk].

The seventh single [Space Walk] tenderly captures the nature of parting, expressing the sadness of saying goodbye while comparing the continuation of life to the vastness of space. The comforting lyrics and guitar riffs that make you feel as if you’re drifting through the cosmos will serve as a guide for those going through a breakup.
