THE BOYZ just released their 7th mini-album ‘[BE AWARE]‘. They have been releasing and promoting their music non-stop, and we love to see their steady growth over the last few of years, the fandom is getting bigger and bigger by the day.
With this release they want to show “(…) a collection of emotions that unfold as boys face love from the moment dopamine blooms to the moment they let go of everything in a dangerous love (…)‘ (Source: MELON).
We are very curious to see how they expressed these emotions through music, let’s dive right in.
[BE AWARE]
We start off with the title track ‘WHISPER‘ with an addictive synth and The Boyz’ signature title track energy. This song is all about dope beats, whisper like vocals, and a super fun change of tempos. Just get ready to jam to this single from star to end.
Colourful aesthetics meet a cool and also kinda cutesy concept in the music video. The visuals in this video are slick, the changes of sets, transitions and visuals effects are super fun, unexpected and super smooth. They all look incredible. Make sure to watch it below.
With hip-hop beats ‘Bump & Love‘ takes over, and with this single we get awesome high notes, and chill rapping. The Boyz’ harmonies take this single to the next level of coolness. The ad-libs are a total vibe.
‘C.O.D.E‘ comes along with a very exciting tempo, the EDM beats and full flow give this single a bit of a summer feel I very much liked.
A piano riff welcomes listeners in ‘Levitating‘, the grooviness in this single is insane. The mixing and composition gives off a bit of a darker vibe I dig a lot. This single is super rich in vocals and the rapping is killer. The change in tempo to R&B in the bridge sealed the deal for me and made this song one of my favourite b-sides ever. It’ll be on replay for a while.
Electric guitar riff and bass take over in ‘Survive The Night‘, this single is a lot softer and emotional, the vocal line goes off in this song and gives listeners all the feels.
Last in this release is ‘Timeless‘, a song written for The B (aka. Deobi), and needless to say this single is just heartwarming and super cute. The melody is charming and their harmonisations are really touching. A very emotional and adorable end.
