The boys from Stray Kids are back with their latest album ‘KARMA’. We’re super curious so let’s dive right in!
KARMA
We open with ‘BLEEP’. It’s a hip-hop track with quite a big soundscape to it. It feels cinematic and the progression is dope. They’re not listening to the criticism and just moving forward, believing in themselves.
‘CEREMONY’ is the title track and honestly wow! I love Stray Kids and I know they’re consistently delivering fantastic music, and then even then I was still amazed by this comeback. It’s fresh, fun, has amazing sections and a hella cool flow.
After that comes ‘CREED’. We’re going for effortless flows and a sick trap beat. The auto-tune was well done and not too much.
‘MESS’ brings out our emo side. It “expresses the lingering feelings and conflicts after a breakup with rough guitar sounds.”
‘In My Head’ delivers with pop rock and a catchy melody. I enjoyed the melody and the message: “If there’s anyone among you who’s struggling with something, I hope humming this song will lighten your mind, even if only for a moment.”
Up next is ‘Half Time’. We’re literally at the halfway point of the album, so love the placement there. The song is uplifting and groovy with a sick bass.
We’re going EDM with ‘Phoenix’. I enjoyed the energy and the beat. The vocals were lovely as well. ‘Ghost’ is also more synth than we’re used to, but it’s a lot of fun and also has their story of pain and confusion and the desire to not give up.
After that comes ‘0801’. This is a comforting song for the fandom STAY.
The last two tracks are the Festival Version and English Version of the title track ‘CEREMONY’.
