Our king ONEW is back with his second full album ‘PERCENT’. We’re super curious about this comeback, so let’s take a closer look!
PERCENT
We start off with the track ‘Silky’. We’re going for a retro groove with cool synths and a fantastic guitar line. This is a great opener as it sets the bar high right out of the gate. It’s so silky smooth (pun intended).
‘Caffeine’ comes up next. The groove is continuing with ‘Caffeine’ and we’re adding some brass and some dope vocal layering. The drums added are great and the progression is lovely.
‘Marshmellow’ is a soft synth pop track that still carries a bit of that grooviness. The drums here are a nice touch and I really loved the melody.
After that comes the title track ‘ANIMALS’. According to the album description this track “captures a moment of liberation focused on instinct and senses. This song is a cry to awaken dormant instincts, shaking the senses beyond language and judgment, crossing boundaries, at night when rhythm and instinct rule. Now, let’s awaken the instincts within us!”
After that comes the pre-released ‘Confidence’ which we wrote about here.
‘Oreo Cake’ is a warm track that sings about the small comforts in life. I enjoyed the textured guitars and the overall vibe.
Next up is ‘Far Away’. We’re going for an alternative pop rock moment. I’m really loving the guitars here and this is going to go bonkers live. Let’s all run away together!

‘PERCENT’ is a stunning track with insane vocals and a killer beat. I like this darker sound with interesting instrumentals and its dramatic flair.
Next up is ‘Epilogue’. We get a piano ballad that feels melancholic and hopeful at the same time. Onew’s vocals shine bright here and this was such a lovely listen. The vocal layering in the post-chorus gave me chills.
We close off with the track ‘Happy Birthday’. We’re literally ending with a party! How fun! “It musically expresses that every moment is a blessed ‘Happy moment’, containing the hope for precious time and new beginnings. “
