[Review] KISS OF LIFE – Lose Yourself

The girls from KISS OF LIFE are back with their latest mini-album ‘Lose Yourself’. We’re super stoked because they’ve had some great momentum, so let’s dive in!

Lose Yourself

We start off with the title track ‘Get loud’. We’re going for a Latin style track with a Hip-Hop rhythm and some very choppy guitars. I loved the opening and the pre-chorus in particular. The visuals of the music video are literally insane. Honestly, 10/10.

Next up is the pre-released ‘R.E.M’ which is a mid-tempo R&B track with an early 2000s vibe. It’s a great track that allows us to slow down and appreciate the vocal power.

Chemistry’ continues this album with some major groove. This R&B track is reminiscent of groups like TLC and SWV. It’s a beautiful listen with light synths and great guitar sections. I love it.

Next up is ‘Igloo’. We’re going for a mature sound with a Hip-Hop beat, cool synth pads and really fun rap sections. I really enjoyed the chorus, as it’s easy to vibe along to.

‘Too many Alex’ is a playful track with a bouncy rhythm, funny lyrics and a retro vibe with the analog synth bass. The title refers to too many people listed under the same name on your phone.

After that comes ‘Back to me’. This one is a pop rock track with impressive vocals and fantastic layering. I love how big this song feels and how uplifting the message is. In the lyrics the person has overcome the pain of losing someone and filled the empty space with themselves, to continue to grow. How wholesome is that!

We’re closing off with ‘No One But Us’. It’s an EDM pop track with a fun riff and a bouncy rhythm. This reminds me of listening to the radio in the summers during the early 2000s. The lyrics are a little sad, but you don’t notice that when you’re listening to it.
