[Review] KickFlip – My First Flip

KickFlip is back with new music in their latest mini-album ‘My First Flip’, and this release is extra special as the members participated in both the writing and composing of every single track. Let’s dive right in and see what they’ve prepared!

My First Flip

‘My First Love Song’ kicks off this release with a pop-rock vibe, a surprising yet refreshing choice for a title track. Its infectious hook, uplifting progression, and never-ending energy had us completely hooked from the start!

With anime OST vibes, ‘Band-Aid’ follows as one of the standouts. The composition is powerful and dynamic, with an interesting mix of vocals, ad-libs, and rap. The members deliver an impactful performance that makes this single a total listening experience.

‘Crush’ comes next with playful guitar instrumentals and a bright vocal arrangement. The vibe is pure fun and feels like an absolute party anthem.

Keeping up the playfulness, ‘Tiki-taka’ is a blissful track where the rap-line truly shines with its bouncy flow and fantastic contrast to the vocals.

With ‘Gas On It’, KickFlip turns up the intensity, this song is pure energy, driven by EDM beats and a cool, edgy flow that makes it totally epic.

A unique blend of pop-punk textures takes over in ‘404: Not Found’, and we absolutely dig the refreshing concept and sharp vocals. The progression and instrumental work add a bold twist to this mini-album.

Closing the release, ‘Secret Nightmare’ delivers a softer, more emotional side of KickFlip. The band instrumentals are nostalgic and dreamy, while the vocals shine with raw emotion, giving the track an indie-inspired charm.

KickFlip’s ‘My First Flip’ is a bold and refreshing release, showcasing their versatility with rock-pop and band instrumentals while bringing new colours to their discography. Definitely a mini-album you shouldn’t miss, check it out here.
