The Global fan-made group Kep1er is finally here with their debut EP ‘FIRST IMPACT‘. If you are not familiar with this girl group, they were formed in the survival show ‘Girls Planet 999’ in 2021, and since then fans all over the world have been looking forward to this debut.
Consisting of Yujin, Mashiro, Xiaoting, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, Youngeun, and Yeseo, this group is co-managed by WAKEONE Entertainment and Swing Entertainment and will be active for two years and six months.
We were very much anticipating this release, let’s dive into the music.
FIRST IMPACT
‘See The Light‘ works as the intro for this EP. The arrangement at the beginning really gives this single a rather mysterious vibe I really liked. It just gets better with the beat drop and the inclusion of EDM beats. Definitely a very strong first impression.
The title track ‘WA DA DA‘ follows up with a house music tempo and cool harmonizations. This single has the potential to be a party anthem and it is perfect to hype up crowds. As the title track I would have liked hearing more singing from the members and a more balanced music/vocals. Nevertheless, this song is a total anthem that leaves an impression on listeners.
For the music video, we get very cool set and marvellous camera work and special effects, the choreography is sharp and adorable at the same time, and the girls look amazing. Check it below.
House and EDM meet in ‘MVSK‘ and this single is an absolute bop. The vocal arrangement and its mixing with the vocals is fantastic. The harmonizations are smooth and everything about this song was incredibly well-balanced to create a unique listening experience. The little pauses in the track created a bit of a momentum that got even more impressive with the vocalization of the members.
We go onto the singles ‘Shine‘, ‘Another Dream‘ and ‘O.O.O (Over&Over&Over)‘ Kep1er version. These tracks were released as part of ‘Girls Planet 999’, but this time we get them with the final line-up and as a closure for their debut EP.
