Our girl JOY is finally back with her mini-album ‘From JOY, with Love’. This comes a whopping four years since her solo debut album ‘Hello’. We’re super curious to see what she’s bringing, so let’s take a closer look!
From JOY, with Love
We start off with the title track ‘Love Splash!’ This is a cute pop dance track with minimal instrumentation and soft vocals.
‘Get up and dance’ comes up next. I really enjoyed the bouncy rhythm and the retro vibe. It’s a pop dance track with brass in the instrumentation so I was immediately sold. “The lyrics passionately express the desire to enjoy this moment while dancing with the person you met as if by fate.”
After that we get ‘La Vie En Bleu’. This is a pop track with “a French sensibility” and a touch of Bossa Nova. We’re reminiscing about past loves. It’s cute.
‘Unwritten page’ gives us a pop ballad with a waltz rhythm and stunning instrumentation by a piano and some strings. “The lyrics contain a warm message of comfort from a future self who has learned to love and cherish herself to a self who was going through a difficult time.”
‘Scent of Green’ is a pop track with a fun energy and cheerful drums. It’s a song that makes us reminisce about our favorite moments from the summer.
The closing track is ‘Cuddle’. This is a mid-tempo ballad that has minimal instrumentation with solely a piano, so we can fully focus on Joy’s vocals.
