[Review] CLOSE YOUR EYES – Snowy Summer

The boys from CLOSE YOUR EYES absolutely smashed their debut and they’re back with their first comeback ‘Snowy Summer’. Let’s take a closer look.

Snowy Summer

We open up with the first title track ‘Paint Candy’. This is a very retro feeling dance and R&B blend. It has a dope rhythm and a super cool progression. The synth in the backing track was perfect and the rap verse was great.

After that comes the second title track ‘Snowy Summer’. This is a groovy pop R&B track with a solid bass and a sick synth. The chorus is catchy and I enjoyed the overall layering of the instrumentals.

The music video is hilarious. Check it out below!

We’re going for pop rock with ‘You’. I like the pluckiness of the synths and the little autotuned vocal moments. It “playfully interprets the pronunciation of the emoticon (ㅠ), which symbolizes the Korean vowels that mean crying or sadness, and the ambiguous expression of you.”

The closing track is ‘Bubble Tea’. It’s a playful pop track with fun guitars and a cute energy. We’re enjoying the small moments with this track.
