[Review] BoA celebrates 25 years with ‘Crazier’

Our absolute queen is back! BoA returned with her eleventh full-length album ‘Crazier’. If you don’t know yet, BoA has been an absolute icon since her debut in 2000 at only fourteen. She’s left an insane mark on the K-pop industry and we’re absolutely blessed that she’s still releasing new bangers. This is her twenty-fifth anniversary comeback.

Let’s take a closer look at this release!

Crazier

We open up this album with her title track ‘Crazier’. This is a pop punk anthem and a really cool track. I love her attitude and the message in this. I’m really digging the guitars in this and BoA’s power vocals.

Honestly top tier!

‘Healing Generation’ comes up next. We’re going for an 80s synth vibe with some soul pop. I love the vocal layering in this and the progression is rad.

After that we get ‘It Takes Two’. This is a self-written track that falls under the urban hip-pop genre. It has a bit of a retro vibe to it because of the synths.

‘Don’t Mind Me’ is a dance pop banger and really showcases her lower register which is SUCH a vibe! I absolutely love this track. I’m going to obsess over this one so much.

‘How Could’ is a completely different track. This is another self-written track and brings us some delicious pop R&B with honestly a stunning guitar line. “It calmly tells the story of a long-time lover’s breakup, leaving a faint lingering feeling.”

Next up is ‘What She Wants’. This one brings the groove back with some dance pop.

We’re falling in love with ‘Up and Down’. We’re going for some groovy R&B and the comparison of love being a rollercoaster.

‘Love Like This’ is such a sweet pop track and is “about meeting a fateful person and now wanting to be with the person you love forever without any fear.” This is adorable and a soft listen.

We’re going for a dance moment with ‘Like I Like’. While ‘Hit You Up’ delivers with Brazilian funk. Both are absolute bangers.

The closing track is ‘Clockwise’ and opens with a beautiful piano line and together with BoA’s vocal, it creates a wonderful intimate scene. It’s a song for the fandom and everyone who has been with her through this journey.
