[Review] Billlie – Of all we have lost

The girls from Billlie are back with their latest mini-album ‘Of all we have lost’. We’re super stoked, so let’s take a closer look.

Of all we have lost

We start the album with ‘remembrance candy’. This is the first of two title tracks and is a super cute pop track that borders on bubblegum with its cute piano line. There’s also a groovy bassline and a really fun bridge. IU is credited as the lyricist.

‘Trampoline’ is the second title track and goes for a groovy ambience with a jazzy style. The bassline really pops off and the rap verse was excellent. The vocals in the pre-chorus and chorus are stunning! I 100% enjoyed this so much!

Next up is ‘Bluerose’. We’re getting some city pop with 80s influences. This was a really cool listen. I liked the progression and the layering of the instrumentals. It feels oldschool and fresh at the same time.

‘BTTB’ gives us some emo pop which I wasn’t expecting, but thoroughly vibed with. The pre-chorus was stunning and the synths thrown into the chorus were a fun addition.

After that comes ‘shame’ which gives us a killer groove with a very retro synth. We’re sticking with the 80s theme but it fits them to a T. I would love to hear a stripped down acoustic version of this.

The closing track is ‘dream diary – etching of mémoires of midnight reverie’. This is such an interesting one. They blended Tropical beats with R&B to create a fresh, dreamy track. I dig the build up and the summer vibe.
