[Review] AtHeart – Plot Twist

The girl group AtHeart officially debuted today with their debut mini-album ‘Plot Twist’. The group under TITAN Content consists of seven members: Michi, Arin, Katelyn, Bome, Seohyeon, Aurora, and Nahyun.

“AtHeart, is a combination of ‘Heart’, which means heart, mind, and love, and ‘At’, which represents the connection that conveys that heart, and contains the meaning of communicating with fans around the world through their hearts and growing together.”

Plot Twist

We start off with the title track ‘Plot Twist’. This is a super fun and playful EDM synth pop single. I loved the vocal layering and the more minimalistic instrumentals. The little high pings in the backing track were fun! I also enjoyed the hook.

‘Push Back’ is a dance track with Amapiano influences. This is a super cool single with a bouncy rhythm and soft vocals.

After that comes ‘Dot Dot Dot…’ and with it we get some pop R&B goodness. I enjoyed the little rap moment and the build up towards the chorus. The chorus itself was also a delight. Also the vocals during the bridge!! Wow!

‘Knew Me’ follows that with a bit of a dream pop moment. The lyrics talk about “change and growth, symbolizing AtHeart’s confident energy moving forward.” which is honestly super sweet. I love the little arpeggio delivery of the ‘if you think you knew me’ part.

They released their predebut ‘Good Girl (AtHeart)’ in May.

Honestly ‘Plot Twist’ is a super lovely debut and I can’t wait to hear more from AtHeart.
