[Review] ALPHA DRIVE ONE Debuts with Mini-Album ‘EUPHORIA’

ALPHA DRIVE ONE, the latest boy group under WAKEONE, officially makes its debut with the mini-album ‘EUPHORIA’. The group, comprising Leo, Junseo, Arno, Geonwoo, Sangwon, Xinlong, Anxin, and Sanghyeon, was formed through Mnet’s survival show ‘BOYS II PLANET’, which aired last year.

Their first teaser came during the MAMA Awards, where they performed the pre-release single ‘FORMULA’. The track offered a high-voltage preview of their style: powerful, performance-focused, and charged with rookie ambition.

The mini-album opens with ‘FORMULA’, an EDM and hip-hop-driven track that bursts with explosive energy. It’s the perfect stage anthem, showcasing the members’ commanding choreography and performance power.

The title track ‘FREAK ALARM’ follows, blending hype hip-hop beats with a catchy bounce. Tempo shifts to R&B-inspired bridges let the vocal line shine, creating a refreshing contrast. Next is ‘Raw Flame’, a hybrid of house and hip-hop, where the rap line showcases rapid, precise flow while the vocalists add depth with smooth harmonies.

Chains brings a familiar touch, it’s a reinterpretation of the song performed in the ‘BOYS II PLANET’ finale, retaining its R&B smoothness and vibe.

Another reimagined track, ‘Never Been 2 Heaven’, stands out for its playful, refreshing vibe, perfectly suiting the group’s youthful energy.

Finally, Cinnamon Shake’ closes the mini-album with an upbeat EDM groove, a sleek arrangement, and a satisfying build-up that leaves a lasting impression.
