[Review] Aespa – Whiplash

The girls from Aespa are back to slay with ‘Whiplash’. This is their fifth mini-album and we’re stoked to discover what they brought us.

Aespa – Whiplash

We start off with the opening track ‘Whiplash’. This title track is freaking DOPE, It’s giving one last moment of brat summer. The House EDM track is fantastic and catchy as hell. The beat goes hard and I’m all for it.

The members look absolutely stunning!

We’re going for a blend of Hip-Hop and Dance in ‘Kill it’. There’s some really cool synths in the backing track and the ‘woohoo’ is a total earworm.

‘Flights, Not Feelings’ is such a vibe. This is stunning R&B and really delivers with some great vocal work. The outro?! heavenly.

‘Pink Hoodie’ comes back with the Hip-Hop Dance. It has such a catchy rhythm to it. The pre-chorus is cool but the chorus is an absolute killer. I love it! The bridge i=had me shook.

Next up is ‘Flowers’ where we’re going back to R&B. The guitar riff is stunning and blends so well with their softer vocals. This was a pretty incredible listen. I enjoyed the layering. The vocal stacking was so pretty to listen to.

The closing track is ‘Just Another Girl’. This is a pop rock moment and what a lovely way to close the mini.
