We’re back with a new Ode to the artist and this time we’re discussing the fantastic HAEPAARY. Let’s dive right in!
HAEPAARY
HAEPAARY is an indie duo with two members: Minhee and Hyewon. They create an interesting blend between electronic music and Korean traditional music. They debuted in 2021 with the EP ‘Born in Gorgeousness‘.
“The music of HAEPAARY created in this way is closer to the deep sea than to land, closer to swimming than to swimming, and more hazy than clear. The identity of the songs that suddenly emerge in the midst of it all sounds like a declaration without a declaration.”
‘Born in Gorgeousness’ is filled with ceremonial music dedicated to the ancestors of the Joseon era.
In 2021 they also released the two singles ‘Go to Gpd and Then’ and ‘Nothing to envy’.
They took a break after that and in 2024 they released five singles.
