‘Papillon’ by the band Hon’z is our pick for Music Video Recommendation of the week.
Hon’z is a rather recent discovery for me. Bless the Weekly K-Indie Reports that fill my week with new music. The band has three members; Hong Si-eun (vocal/guitar), Lee Jin-seok (guitar), and Moon Seol (bass). Check out their Instagram here.
‘Papillon’ has an interesting indie sound mixed with the slightest bit of funk. I am in love with the blend of the guitars and the vocals. I wanted to feature the music video because of its great animation.
In the album description they wrote that the theme of the EP ‘Reality Show’ was inspired by the Jim Carrey film ‘The Truman Show’. It’s all about the realization that this life might be an illusion. The song ‘Papillon’ plays into that by the metaphor of the moth seeing a light and thinking that it is the moon.
Go ahead and check out the music video for ‘Papillon’ by Hon’z, directed by Pallo.
