In this edition of our Label Deep Dive, we’re spotlighting an indie hip-hop label known for its sharp lyricism and distinctive style. Let’s take a closer look at Dirty Play Records.
Founded in March 2023 by Uneducated Kid, Dirty Play Records quickly positioned itself within Korea’s indie hip-hop scene. As the label’s first signed artist, Uneducated Kid set the tone for its musical direction, one rooted in bold delivery and unique sonic identity.
Shortly after its launch, the label expanded its roster with Polodared and Fleeky Bang in April 2023. Both artists are well-recognized within the underground scene and gained wider attention through appearances on Show Me the Money, bringing credibility and performance-driven energy to the label.
The most recent addition to the lineup is Tray B, who joined the label in July 2024. Marking this new chapter, he released the album ‘Tray Show’, further expanding the label’s musical spectrum while maintaining its core identity.
Dirty Play Records continues to build a roster of artists with distinctive sounds and strong artistic identities. As the label grows, it will be interesting to see how its lineup evolves and how it further shapes its place within Korea’s indie hip-hop landscape.
