K-INDIE CHART – AUGUST

We’re back with the latest K-Indie Chart! This time we’re taking a closer look at the bestselling records of August. Let’s see how the top 10 evolved from July.

We got quite a few changes this month! Of course, we also got a few sticklers like Broccoli, you too?, and JANNABI.

HANRORO snagged the very first spot with her new mini-album ‘Jamong Salgu Club’ (or the Grapefruit Apricot Club).

The EP contains 7 tracks and follows the story of a couple of friends who are in a special club where they want to die but also not really. It requires a lot of courage to live.

It’s an excellent rock album with tracks like ‘Welcome!’ with great guitars and a powerful chorus “I want to live” and the track ‘The Suspect’.

There are also slower tracks like ‘Light or Rain’ and ‘O+O’, in the latter we get lovely strings and piano added to a full band.

The title track ‘Goodbye, My Summer’ is drenched in melancholy mixed with really solid guitars.

Another newcomer to the chart is JisokuryClub. They showed up in February with their debut EP from 2022, but this time they’re on the list with ‘Climbers’ which is a release from February 2025.

The EP contains five tracks and is a fun indie rock moment. While ‘Horses’ feels like a chaotic, fast paced rock track, ‘Nothing’ is more synth oriented.
