[Indie Pick] Seomoon Tak

For today’s Indie Pick we’re going to the rock genre with powerful vocals from none other than Seomoon Tak.

Here’s a sample, if you haven’t heard her vocals before. This blew me away the first time I listened to it.

Debut

Lee Su-Jin who uses the stage name Seomoon Tak, studied music production and engineering at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. The first time she was in the spotlight was when she performed at a music festival in 1994. She debuted in 1999 and was pretty much from the start a whopping success.

Her title track ‘Love, never withers away’ got pretty famous and has been covered quite a bit.

She has released 8 regular albums and 8 single albums. That’s excluding the special albums or the compilation albums from her participation with ‘I Am A Singer 2’.

I am legit in love with seeing her groove to the music. Her vocals give me chills and she could sing the dictionary and I’d be intrigued and probably streaming the hell out of it.

She rocks.

Someone online made a compilation video of her lowest and highest belts.

Latest release

Last month she released her new single ‘Gangseogucheong Station’ which we featured in our Weekly K-Indie Report. I choked up a little when I first saw it.

You can find her personal website here. Go check out her YouTube Channel here. Here’s the link to her Instagram

If you want to do a deep-dive into her discography, might I suggest this playlist that Spotify created introducing all the best by Seomoon Tak.
