We’re back with a new Indie Pick and this time we’re taking a look at the discography of Naojusung.
Naojusung is an electronica artist who’s only debuted in April 2025. He debuted strong with the full album ‘SAYANG’ which is one of my favorite albums of the year.
In the album description they wrote this: “”Sayang,” is a work expressing the hope and love he found hard amidst the losses he experienced. “Sayang” (斜陽) refers to the setting sun in the evening. The imminent sunset evokes complex emotions, as it heralds the long night ahead. The sun sinking in the west, painting the surroundings crimson, may seem blood-red, but in reality, the sun actually grows larger and rounder as it reaches the edge of the sky. Nao Joo-seong created the album by comparing the existential sorrow he endured, yet the hope he never let go, to “Sayang,” a blood-red but all the more rounded, just before being consumed by darkness.”
It’s a beautiful, dreamy album that definitely deserves more attention.
