Actor and singer Park Ji Hoon just dropped his third mini-album ‘The W’. Ji Hoon is a multi talented rising star, we are very excited to see his next projects. For now, let’s dive into this release.
The W
‘On The Rise’ opens this mini-album with a rather interesting concept. This track feels more as prelude to this release with Ji Hoon’s vocals and an electronic track. What I like the most about this track is how the end smoothly transitions to the first beats of the following track ‘Wing’ which is also the title track of this EP.
‘Wings’ is a dance track packed with EDM beats and a really cool layering and mixing. The beat matching the flow of the lyrics was super satisfying to hear. The music video is super colorful and it is just the perfect summer release music video with blue skies, pastel colours and killer dancing.
On a more groovy side we have ‘frequency’, this song is smooth and Park Ji Hoon’s vocals are glorious. The full track is very enjoyable and super fun to listen to. My highlight is definitely the bridge and its electronic keyboard, it is a super cool mix of tunes that I personally loved.
‘Driving’ starts off with a more ballad concept, but as it progresses it becomes a dance track with EDM tunes and a killer rhythm. This full song develops between these two very different flows, however, that’s what makes it so special and refreshing to listen to.
‘Paradise’ begins with a very interesting mix of beats and becomes the perfect electronic summer song, with a very free spirited feel. Going to the pop side, ‘Let’s Love’ closes this mini-album with playful beats, a cool tempo and fun vibe.
