We are starting off a new series here on M.E.A.L. and since we still spend too much time on YouTube we figured we could discover more good stuff for you. This time we’re bringing you some of the best covers done by Korean idols. Our goal is to show how good their vocals are so you can fall in love with them just like we did. Maybe we can also get rid of a stereotype or two, so that’s just an extra bonus.
For our first article, I found this cover of ‘Gone’, a song originally by Lianne La Havas. Quick sidenote, I saw Lianne live and it was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Holy cannoli that girl can sing.
But so can Yeonjoo, a member of the girl group P.O.P. her smoky, jazzy vocals are perfectly suited for this cover. I’m pretty sure I broke the replay button.
Yeonjoo’s belting is amazing and it the entire group has a couple of fantastic covers like a song by Lorde and BTS. All of their voices are gems.
