The girls from Weeekly are back with their single album ‘Play Game: AWAKE’.

We start off with the title track ‘Ven para‘ which was quite the surprise. As is written in their album descpription the girls graduated from being ‘K-Teens’ and are aiming towards a more mature sound. This track is a hard-hitting, high energy single with lots of pizzzazz and fire.

The change of concept might be a surprise for a lot of fans. Weeekly had its own unique little spot in the sector. They had a fresh outlook and an even fresher image. I’m a bit sad to see that go, and a more gradual approach might have been smarter. However I’m sure we’ll get used to this new, more mature vibe. They look amazing!

‘Solar’ is up next. This EDM meets hip-hop instrumentals is a total club banger. The whispering was chill-inducing.

The closing track is ‘Where is my love?’. This soft R&B ballad is a thank you to the fans who have been by their side. This track really lets us appreciate the members’ vocals. It’s absolutely lovely.

‘Play Game: AWAKE’ by Weeekly is certainly an interesting progression in their discography. You can find it on Spotify here.
