[REVIEW] SUMIN – XX

NEO-K-pop queen SUMIN is back with a brand new EP titled ‘XX’. 

Sumin’s last album was released last year and we are in love with her music. She is an incredible artist, so please go and listen to her work, you won’t be disappointed.

‘TURNON’ starts this EP and as the title suggests this song is lit! The mix of beats throughout this full song is out of this world. SUMIN never disappoints with the mixing and layering in her tracks, we get her edgy and unique sound that we love, mixed with experimental transitions that the only way I can describe them as is EXQUISITE. 

As an Electro-pop / Alternative music fan, her music is a gift for me, and I just loved how this song leaves such a strong first impression. 

Dbo is featured in the track ‘SAYx3 (뭐라할 뻔 했냐면)’, this song describes SUMIN’s music style perfectly. You can hear the NEO K-pop in every single second of this track, and Dbo’s rapping is fantastic, the line “pikachu, I think about you” will remain memorable and legendary.

‘SWIM’ needs to become a clubbing anthem, this dance track is fire and I can totally see people dancing to it and having the time of their life. It has an experimental house music vibe to it that blew my mind everytime the beat dropped. UNREAL!

Last on this EP that felt extremely short but incredible, is ‘ZAZA’, this song showcases SUMIN’s fantastic vocals, and blends it flawlessly with her unique sound. Overall, it is the perfect end for this release.
