For this week’s Offstage we’re taking a closer look at e.one.Even if you don’t recognize the name e.one, you definitely have come across their work before. So let’s take a closer look.

Duo

E.one is a duo that consists of Choi Hyun Joon and Jung Ho Hyun. They have composed, written and arranged some of K-pop’s biggest hits.

Choi Hyun Joon is also a vocalist for the vocal group V.O.S. Check him out on Instagram here. You can find Jung Ho Hyun on Instagram here. They both write and produce separately as well, however for the sake of this feature we’ll focus on the music they have created together. I feel like they would each deserve their own, more in-depth article.

Music

They composed the OST ‘Beautiful Girl’ for the series ‘The Girl Who Still Wants To Marry’ in 2010 by BYUL. That’s their first writing credit I could find.

E.one also composed the title track for Top Cloud.

They created multiple songs for the group ZE:A.

In 2012, they wrote the title track ‘JANUS’ for the group BOYFRIEND.

Yoseop Yang from BEAST used their song ‘Although I’ in his 2012 album ‘The First Collage’.

In 2013 they had success with their single ‘Dada La’ for the girl group LADIES’ CODE.

They also wrote the 2013 SHINHWA classic ‘Mannequin’.

The song ‘Good Girl’ by Baek A Yeon was also their work.

EXO came out with one of their songs in 2013 with ‘Lucky’.

The song ‘Crystal’ by APink was also created by the duo.

They also worked together with 9Muses.

‘Cupid’ by KARA was iconic.

The 2016 single ‘Gone with the wind’ by GFRIEND was written by e.one.

The single ‘Secret’ for WJSN was also their work.

They collaborated with Jonghyun for ‘SHE IS’.

In 2017 they wrote ‘April Story’ for the girl group APRIL.

They have created many more tracks for both girl groups and boy groups. I collected some of their most iconic work.

The entire K-pop industry wouldn’t be the same without the two of them.
