This Dance Choreo You Should Watch is the music video for the song ‘Ironic’ by Standing Egg. They already write incredibly emotional lyrics, but the modern dance that was choreographed for this just makes it even more so.
The choreo was created by JEMMA who works as an instructor for Prepix Dance Studio, you can find more information about her here. She’s also the dancer you see in the video together with dancer JM.
One of the previous Dance Choreo’s I featured for this was by Ha Hyunsang for ‘Where Are You Now’ and I find a lot of similarities in how modern dance can be a perfect tool to bring out even more meaning and depth to the song. You can take a look here if I just made you curious.
In ‘Ironic’ you can just feel the pain portrayed by each and every move. With the ending lyrics of the song ‘Gosh, look at us, turned into pieces’, you feel like you’re actually getting your heart broken.
